IT-Security

As follow-up to the Security Bulletin sent Monday of this week, Neoscope has completed an audit of all managed Client systems, identified the handful of clients where Quicktime was still installed on their computers and we have Opened tickets for each company to track the uninstall of Quicktime.

To reiterate our message below, Quicktime is a deprecated video codec that allows Windows computers to play Quicktime video’s.  Apple has stopped development on this application (for Windows computers). At least 2 critical vulnerabilities publicly announced in this product have the potential of being exploited.

Please review any ticket opened today for your company to see which machines have Quicktime installed at your company.  In the highly unusual situation where you need Quicktime, please update the ticket to that effect and Neoscope will reach out to discuss installation of alternate video software.

Thank-you,

Neoscope Shield Security Team
