IMAGE-1Productivity is a highly coveted trait of good employees and CEOs. If someone is willing to put the work in, a company can become successful – period. It’s not that simple, but it’s certainly a superior start to a company. However, productivity doesn’t come easily to all of us, especially when we do a lot in our lives already. Fortunately, there’s a lot of good techniques and good advice out there regarding productivity, and here are a few tips to help get you started right.

Know Your “Peak Times”

Everyone has a natural rhythm about their lives. Some people are morning lovers and some are night owls. Some thrive well in the afternoon and some only do well before the sun comes up. It’s completely dependent on the person, and it’s important that you find that rhythm in your life. The moment you find the right feel to your life is the moment you become much more productive. You have to capitalize on the time when you feel energetic and full of life. If you don’t, research says you could be lowering your productivity by as much as 50%.

Don’t Let People Drain Your Energy

The worst thing you can do for yourself is allow yourself to be surrounded by people who drain your energy and patience. Some of them can be hard to avoid, but should be avoided anyway – even if that person is your boss. Booker T. Washington knew this secret well, and expressed it in this quote: “The number of people who stand by ready to consume one’s time, to no purpose, is almost countless.” Instead of allowing these people to take your time from you, take what they have to say with a grain of salt and keep in the track that you know is going to get the most work done in the least amount of time.
